Results:
Production data showed that performance of the company's
extrusion presses - across the board - for the ten years 1977-1986 had
been flat.
In five years 1987-1992, the average productivity - expressed as
finished weight per production hour, of the top 40 extrusion presses
in the Alcan Group increased by 25%, and the production of good
product (recovery) increased by 5%.
In 1992, the Group shipped over 360,000 metric tonnes (800 million
pounds) of extrusions.
